President Bola Tinubu and labor leaders have agreed on a new national minimum wage of N70,000. The National Assembly will receive an executive bill on Tuesday to formalize the change, replacing the previous N30,000 wage.
The agreement includes a three-year review period and commitments to pay withheld salaries for university staff and invest in infrastructure and renewable energy. While the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN) welcomed the resolution, the PDP criticized the wage as inadequate.
