I had just moved to Lagos from Abuja, flat broke, and had to stay with my older brother while I searched for work.
During this “sapa” phase, I met Bisola. She was everything I’d ever wanted in a woman—curvy, soft-spoken, and with a personality that matched mine.
She worked as a salesgirl in a boutique near our house. I used to follow my brother there to buy clothes, and that’s when we hit it off.
Since I was jobless at the time, I’d spend a lot of time at the shop, keeping her company. Sometimes she’d buy us food, or even give me a shirt or jeans from the store for free.
I was so in love with her, especially when she’d lock the shop, come over to my place, and we’d have quickies before she rushed back to work. This went on until I finally landed a job, and after a year, I moved out into my own place.
Three years later, My brother finally proposed to his girlfriend, and after we dropped her off, we decided to go out and celebrate the big moment.
We took him to a club, and as usual, he couldn’t hold his liquor. After a few drinks, he started misbehaving.
I stepped in, held him up, and was taking him to the car when he suddenly hugged me tightly and asked me to forgive him.
“Forgive you ke? For what?” I asked.
He looked me in the eye & said, “I slept with Bisola a few times after my ex left me.”
I was shocked. My brother had been devastated after catching his ex cheating on him with a yahoo boy, but he had found healing with the woman he had just proposed to
Hearing this news hit me like a tsunami, especially knowing how being cheated on devastated him, only for him to put me in the same position
What?” I asked, my voice trembling. I let go of him, and he collapsed to the ground. He started crying, rolling around, begging for my forgiveness.
He explained that Bisola had found him drunk and walking home one night. She helped him get back to his place, and the next day, when she came to check on him, they fvcked
“Just like that?” I asked, struggling to process it.
He nodded. According to him, she confessed she always had a crush on him but he was in a relationship, & when I came into the picture, she moved to me—though her feelings for him never fully went away
“How many times?” I asked, barely able to hold it together.
“Four,” he admitted.
I left him on the floor with his friends & went home. That night I couldn’t sleep & very early the next day, I called Bisola over to my place
“Have you been cheating on me?” I asked her
She looked shocked, clearly unprepared for the question. “What do you mean?” She replied
“Just tell me the truth,” I said, my voice hardening. “Did you sleep with anyone else while we were together?”
She hesitated for a moment, clearly torn. I could see the guilt in her eyes, but I wasn’t prepared for what came next.
After a long pause, Bisola finally spoke. “Yes… but it wasn’t like you think. He’s been flirting with me for a while, I… I wasn’t thinking straight. It wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. I didn’t mean for any of it.”
I froze. “What?” I could barely comprehend what she was saying.
“I… I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking straight, I was not myself that day and things just happened,” she stammered. “I always told you I didn’t like him but you never believed me”
“What are u talking about ? U never liked who?
“Ur friend, Tony. I swear it happened only once when u traveled to Benin for ur colleague’s wedding & he has been asking me to date him.”
“You slept with Tony too?” I repeated, barely believing my ears.
“Too?” She looked confused
“I was talking about my brother. Did u sleep with my brother?”
She started crying. “I’m really sorry. It was a mistake, it happened only once, & I wish I could undo it,” she cried & sat down on the floor begging
The shock of hearing her confess to sleeping with my friend & my brother hit me harder than anything. Not only had she cheated on me with multiple people, but she’d lied to my face this whole time
I called my brother & he completely denied it, claiming he was drunk & didn’t know what he was saying—that nothing had happened
I kicked that lying bltch out of my house and blocked my brother’s number. As for Tony, I won’t forgive nor forget. The betrayal was too much to bear.
Now, I’m planning to tell my brother’s fiancée everything. Why should he get a happy ending when he’s ruined mine?
