Current UCL Table After Juventus Defeated Manchester City 2-0 On Wednesday Night

The match began with both teams showing signs of rust, as they battled for possession. City dominated the ball early on, but it was Juventus who came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute. Kenan Yıldız tested Ederson with a powerful shot from distance, narrowly missing the bottom corner, before setting up Dušan Vlahović, whose touch let him down in a promising attack.

As the first half progressed, City had a few chances of their own. Erling Haaland was presented with opportunities, but Juventus defenders Manuel Locatelli and Michele Di Gregorio denied him, the latter making a crucial block as Haaland attempted to lift the ball over the goalkeeper after Kevin De Bruyne's brilliant assist. Despite continued pressure from the visitors, Juventus stood firm, and the match remained scoreless at halftime.

Juventus made the breakthrough in the 56th minute. A well-delivered header from Vlahović, powered past Ederson despite a valiant attempt from the goalkeeper, gave the home side a deserved lead. City responded with several attempts, but their efforts were thwarted. Bernardo Silva's shot was blocked by Danilo, and Di Gregorio made an exceptional save to deny İlkay Gündoğan from close range.

Juventus capitalized on City's frustration in the 74th minute when American substitutes Timothy Weah and Weston McKennie combined. Weah’s pinpoint cross found McKennie, who volleyed home to double the lead and seal the win for Juventus. City's struggles were summed up late in the match when Silva barged into Federico Gatti in frustration, but it was too little, too late for the visitors.
