Comedian Mark Angel considered suicide after losing $3.7m properties

Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Mark Angel has shared details of a difficult year, describing 2024 as the year he “lost everything.”

In an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, Mark Angel revealed that he lost $3.7 million in forex trading, which plunged him into heavy debt. He recounted how the financial setback led to one of the darkest times of his life, with properties taken by loan sharks and the pressure of debt leaving him hopeless.

He explained that the weight of the loss was overwhelming, and in his darkest moments, he even considered ending it all.

“I was drowning in debts, and one by one, I watched all my properties slip into the hands of loan sharks. It felt like my world was crumbling,” he added.

Mark Angel credited his survival to divine intervention and the unwavering support of his loved ones. He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and close associates, including his pastor, ex-wife Mandy, daughters Victoria and Mila, his son Schoolboy, and his social media assistant Bright.

“If not for God’s mercies, I wouldn’t be here writing this. He sent angels into my life when I needed them the most. Blessing, my friend who became family, never gave up on me. My pastor and his wife stood by me, praying and guiding me. My ex-wife Mandy extended a hand of kindness I will never forget,” he said.

Despite the hardships, Mark Angel said 2024 strengthened his faith and brought him closer to God.
